19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
It is his first title following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an better serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
